Alana Shirley was awarded the VLUK Tutor of the Year Award in 2021, and is a certified Vocal Health First Aider. With Alana, you’ll gain access to expert training in advanced techniques such as breath control, resonance tuning, vocal agility, tonal balance, and mix voice development - all tailored to your unique vocal identity.
Whether you're looking to build power, extend your range, or develop performance-ready pieces with extensive detail, every session is designed to create real, lasting transformations both vocally and physically.
Lessons can be taken as a regular weekly or fortnightly slot for consistent growth, or booked as one-off sessions to prepare for key auditions, performances, or vocal challenges. With Alana’s guidance, you’ll leave every lesson with clarity, confidence, and a stronger, more connected voice.

EXAMS
As a student, you have the option to take singing exams with the London College of Music in either Music Theatre or Popular Music Vocals. This respected examination board is accredited by Ofqual, DfES, and CCEA, with higher-grade exams contributing valuable UCAS points for university applications.
Our exam pathways support both GCSE Music and A-Level Performing Arts, with entry points ranging from Step exams all the way through to Grade 8 and Diploma levels. We’re proud to maintain a 100% pass rate, with over 98% of our students achieving Distinction - the highest mark awarded.
As a private exam centre for the London College of Music, all assessments are held on-site at our studios, offering a familiar and supportive environment for our students.

At Midlands Voice Academy, we offer a variety of performance opportunities throughout the year, giving students the chance to showcase their progress and apply the skills they’ve developed in lessons. From concerts and showcases to community events and full-scale productions, our students gain valuable stage experience in a supportive, confidence-building environment.
